Our free one-off trial class is a gentle, welcoming way to experience Tai Chi, meet our instructors, and get a feel for how Tai Chi can support your health and wellbeing. No experience needed—just comfortable clothing and an open mind.

Six-form Tai Chi (养生太极六式)

 A gentle introduction to Tai Chi fundamentals — perfect for beginners to learn posture, alignment, and flow. It consists of the foundational movements of Chen-style Tai Chi. 

        This 8‑week Beginner Tai Chi Class offers a supportive blend of weekly in‑person Sunday afternoon sessions, optional live online Thursday evening classes, and a warm community atmosphere—complete with free afternoon tea. 

Eight-form Tai Chi (养生太极八循环)

 A gentle introduction to Tai Chi fundamentals — ideal for zero beginners. This form is a combination of Yang, Chen, Sun and Wu style Tai Chi. 

        This 8‑week Beginner Tai Chi Class offers a supportive blend of weekly in‑person Sunday afternoon sessions, optional live online Thursday evening classes, and a warm community atmosphere—complete with free afternoon tea. The small‑group format ensures personalised guidance and meaningful connection throughout your learning experience.

13-form Tai Chi (养生太极十三式)

Builds on Six-form Tai Chi with added flow and coordination, focusing on energy alignment and body awareness. It consists of 13 Chen-style Tai Chi movements.

         This 8‑week Class offers a supportive blend of weekly in‑person Sunday afternoon sessions, optional live online Thursday evening classes, and a warm community atmosphere—complete with free afternoon tea.         

24-form Tai Chi (养生太极24式)

Builds on 13-form Tai Chi with added more intensive movements, the 24-form Tai Chi program focuses on fluidity, stillness in motion, and mind-body integration. It consists of 24 Chen-style Tai Chi movements.

        This 8‑week Class offers a supportive blend of weekly in‑person Sunday afternoon sessions, optional live online Thursday evening classes, and a warm community atmosphere—complete with free afternoon tea.       

36-form Tai Chi (养生太极36式)

Builds on 13-form Tai Chi with added movements, the 36-form Tai Chi program focuses on internal practice, coordination,  Qi and meridian activation. It consists of 36 Chen-style Tai Chi movements. 

        This 8‑week Class offers a supportive blend of weekly in‑person Sunday afternoon sessions, optional live online Thursday evening classes, and a warm community atmosphere—complete with free afternoon tea.       

83-form Tai Chi (养生太极83式)

It is the traditional routine of Chen-style Tai Chi and the most comprehensive routine in Boyuan Tai Chi programs. It embodies the full depth of Tai Chi philosophy, movement, and internal cultivation. Participants must have completed the 13-Form Tai Chi, 24-Form Tai Chi, and 36-Form Tai Chi programs or be an experienced Tai Chi practitioner.

  • Membership Opportunities: Individuals who completed any Boyuan  Tai Chi class is eligible to apply for a membership ($50/year or $100/2 years). Details available on the website (https://boyuantaichi.org/membership). Active members may reattend the same class for free — an exclusive benefit of the Association. 

BOYUAN GONGFA PROGRAMS

Gongfa Programs (功法培训班)

"Great truths are often simple (大道至简)." Gongfa (功法) demonstrates the profound wisdom through simplicity. These internal training methods rooted in traditional Chinese medicine and healing systems. Our Gongfa Program is designed to help practitioners activate and enhance Qi sensation, strengthen internal energy, and deepen body-mind awareness.

Program One: “Rooted in Stillness" (桩功)

This foundational program focuses on breath and body awareness — the essential roots of Tai Chi practice. Participants will explore how grounding and breath regulation awaken internal energy and prepare the body for deeper movement. 

        A 6‑week program that includes a full‑day in‑person workshop in week 1, a half‑day in‑person workshop in week 6, weekly online and in‑person review sessions, and free post‑program online support.

Program Two: “Energy Alignment” (扶阳功)

Dive into the energetic core of Tai Chi. This program focuses on intention and Dantian (energy center) and experiencing how intention, breath and movement align to activate Qi flow. 

        A 6‑week program that includes a full‑day in‑person workshop in week 1, a half‑day in‑person workshop in week 6, weekly online and in‑person review sessions, and free post‑program online support.

Program Three: “Root to Rise” (养元功)

Building on previous programs, this program explores the upward flow of life force energy. Through refined Tai Chi movements, participants will deepen their inner awareness, enhance vertical alignment, and experience how rootedness supports expansion — physically and energetically. 

        A 6‑week program that includes a full‑day in‑person workshop in week 1, a half‑day in‑person workshop in week 6, weekly online and in‑person review sessions, and free post‑program online support.

Program Four: "Stillness in Motion " (固阳功)

In this culminating session, participants will learn to embody stillness within movement — the essence of Tai Chi. The program focuses on fluid transitions, energetic continuity, and the integration of form, breath, and intention. 

        A 6‑week program that includes a full‑day in‑person workshop in week 1, a half‑day in‑person workshop in week 6, weekly online and in‑person review sessions, and free post‑program online support.
